TSM appointed by Winvic to manage Traffic Management
TSM is delighted to be working once again with Northamptonshire-based construction firm, Winvic Construction Ltd, who has secured a £107.5m contract for the SEGRO Logistics Park Northampton Gateway (SLPNG) next to Junction 15 of the M1.
The 450-acre multi-modal logistics hub has been designated as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project and will include a 35-acre Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI), capable of handling sixteen 775m-long trains a day, along with new rail connections and significant improvements to the strategic road network.
Delivered by Winvic, in partnership with Highways England, Network Rail and local authorities, the project will involve major upgrades to Junctions 15 and 15a on the M1, a new bridge over the West Coast Mainline, the construction of a bypass around Roade, improvements to the A45 and safer junctions along the A508.
SEGRO’s MD, Andrew Pilsworth, said: “Now more than ever we are witnessing the vital role logistics is playing in supporting the UK economy and it’s clear that businesses need well located, sustainable facilities. SLPGN is perfectly located with easy access to key road networks and, with the new rail links and Strategic Rail Freight Interchange, will present great opportunities for businesses to flourish.”
Construction of first plots are scheduled to start in late 2021, with infrastructure works anticipated to be completed by end 2023. Civils & Infrastructure Director at Winvic, Rob Cook, said: “SEGRO is a longstanding client of ours and we are delighted to have won the contract. Winvic is no stranger to delivering strategic rail freight schemes and managing cross-agency liaison to mitigate disruption.”
With many years’ experience working for Winvic on a variety of projects, and the construction firm’s preferred choice for TM, TSM looks forward to participating in this key Infrastructure Project. We are fully accredited and trained to National Highway Sector Scheme 12A/B & D standards, with the operational expertise and experience to handle all requirements, and dedicated office and field resources able to deal quickly with any issues.
All TM will be planned by our in-house CAD design team, who will ensure compliance with Chapter 8 guidance, and all works will be delivered via our bespoke Customer Portal, providing an end-to-end solution, from quotation to completion, and equipping all parties with ongoing, real time information to ensure maximum efficiency and speedy response times.
