TSM Signs the Social Recruitment Covenant
TSM is proud to announce that we have signed the Social Recruitment Covenant, marking another important step in our commitment to building an inclusive workforce and driving positive social and economic change.
The Covenant, created by PeoplePlus and championed by the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group, brings together hundreds of organisations across the UK who share the same vision: to support individuals facing barriers to employment and to open doors to meaningful opportunities.
By becoming a signatory, TSM is joining a diverse network of employers, social enterprises, education providers, awarding bodies, and charities – all united in championing best practice in social recruitment.
We recognise that the complex personal circumstances people face – whether related to disability, mental ill health, neurodivergence, parenting responsibilities, prison experience, or other challenges – should not prevent them from accessing work. Instead, we believe these individuals should be actively encouraged, supported, and empowered to thrive in employment.
The Social Recruitment Covenant officially launched at Westminster on 6th November 2024, with signatories joining parliamentarians, business leaders, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Minister for Employment, Alison McGovern. Speaking at the event, the Minister praised the Covenant’s role in supporting social mobility, stating:
“More time is spent in work than in education, and it’s in the workplace where support, coaching, and skills are built.”
Kenny Boyle, PeoplePlus Group Managing Director, added:
“The Social Recruitment Covenant is an initiative to encourage more and more employers to make a commitment to take direct and explicit steps to ensure that those who are furthest away from the workforce are given the opportunity to come into work, to stay in employment and to prosper. There are so many individuals who have a huge amount to offer any and every employer in the UK.”
At TSM, signing the Covenant reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and our belief that employment has the power to transform lives and communities. It’s not just about filling roles – it’s about creating real opportunities that unlock potential and support long-term success.
