TSM Team Braves the Cold for CEO Sleepout Oxford

TSM’s Commercial Director, Terry Thomas, Compliance Manager Giovanni Maffucci, and Social Value Manager Gemma Walsh took part in the CEO Sleepout Oxford at the Oxford University Pavilion — joining dozens of business leaders who gave up their beds for a night to raise vital funds and awareness in the fight against homelessness.

The event, organised by CEO Sleepout UK, brings together professionals from across the country to experience, for one night, what life might be like without a roof overhead. Under the umbrella of multiple homelessness charities, the funds raised go directly towards supporting individuals and organisations tackling poverty and homelessness across the UK.

TSM set an ambitious fundraising target of £1,000 — and thanks to the generosity of friends, colleagues, and supporters, the team more than doubled their goal, raising an incredible £2,172.

As expected, there were a few memorable moments throughout the night. While Terry, an avid fisherman, was well-prepared with his trusty bivvy, Gio’s snoring kept spirits (and perhaps everyone else) awake! Meanwhile, Gemma managed to get through the night without a wink of sleep.

Thankfully, the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) UK were on hand bright and early at 6:30am, serving much-needed sandwiches and hot drinks to all participants — a free-of-charge service they kindly provide at many charitable events like this.

Reflecting on the experience, Giovanni said:

“Having proudly participated in the CEO Sleepout in Oxford, I was deeply inspired to see so many leaders come together and give up their evening to experience, even briefly, the hardships faced by those without a home. It was a real eye-opener — a humbling and sobering reminder of how challenging life can be without shelter, even on a relatively mild night. I was hugely proud to be part of this event and to help raise vital funds for homeless charities across the UK. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy, community, and collective action in driving meaningful change”
