Contract/Project Manager

TSM is seeking an Operations/Project Manager to join our expanding team.

Job Title - Operations/Project Manager Nationwide Travelling will be required for this role, applicants must have a full UK driving license with less than 6 points!

Location - Nationwide

Salary - Highly competitive dependant on skills and experience, with company car allowance benefits

General hours of work - Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am to 6pm with flexibility. You will need to be flexible to travel and attend client meetings. You may be required to work the occasional night shift.

About the role

This is a high profile and critical role within our business. You will oversee all national activities, including the smooth implementation, maintenance and removal of traffic management schemes.These schemes will not always be high speed.

Your professionalism will assist in expanding our client base and development of the business along with our existing clients.

Penetrating new markets, you will increase business growth with both new and existing customers.

You will forge new relationships with potential new customers and maintain solid relationships with current customers to secure repeat business.

Whilst motivating and leading your team, you will deliver an effective and efficient first-class service to our customers.

You will also ensure that your workforce has relevant training and are equipped with the relevant skills to meet demands. This includes ensuring effective and prompt communication of toolbox talks, safety alerts and other contract methodology.

You will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the company to ensure best practice and develop and implement solutions to maximise profitability and by adding sustainable value.

Embedding management procedures and controls, you will drive productivity and will be accountable for achieving the contracts financial targets. This will include regular liaisons with the commercial and finance team and the review of cost and commercial reports.

Health and Safety is also paramount to your role. You will ensure all workers adhere to safe working procedures and all Health, Safety Quality and Environmental policies are implemented.

Our Project/Operations manager would look like this;

  • Relevant Lantra Sector Scheme qualifications
  • IOSH Managing Safely/SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships and network with sector stakeholders
  • Numeracy skills to manage budgets and bid costings
  • Pragmatic and ability to create solutions that meet business needs
  • Collaborative in approach
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office software and ability to work with other business management systems and use remote technology
  • Knowledge of the construction and maintenance market, particularly National Highways, local authority highway maintenance and utilities highways works
  • Experience leading a team within an operational environment Ideally you would hold the following
  • TTME
  • Other formal commercial or business management qualifications
  • Competent in the use of TM design CAD software or a sound understanding of.

Communicating ideas to improve efficiencies and enhance margin come naturally as well as offering ideas to aid depot growth and development.
